Key Responsibilities
- Assisting Lead PK Teacher:
- Collaborate with the lead PK teacher to implement lesson plans and activities designed to meet the educational and developmental needs of all students.
- Support the teacher during whole group sessions by actively engaging students, facilitating discussions, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Leading Small Group Activities:
- Lead small group activities under the guidance of the lead teacher, focusing on specific learning objectives and adapting instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Working with Individual Children:
- Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional assistance or accommodations to participate fully in classroom activities.
- Offer encouragement, reinforcement, and constructive feedback to promote academic and social-emotional growth.
- Supporting Independent Functioning:
- Assist children with varying exceptionalities in developing and maintaining independence in daily activities, including toileting, dressing, and self-care tasks.
- Provide personalized support and guidance based on individual student needs to promote autonomy and confidence.
- Assisting with Data Collection:
- Assist in the collection and documentation of student progress data, including observations, assessments, and behavioral tracking.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff members to maintain accurate records and monitor student growth over time.
- Facilitating Transitions:
- Help students navigate transitions between activities, classrooms, and routines, offering support and guidance to minimize disruptions and promote a smooth transition process.
- Implement strategies to support students with transitions, including visual schedules, verbal prompts, and positive reinforcement techniques.
