Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Estate Planning Legal Assistant to join our law office. We are a professional law firm, and our goal is to provide quality legal services in an efficient, ethical, and effective manner to our clients. The ideal candidate will provide essential legal support to an estate planning attorney and ensure smooth operations and effective communication. This role requires the ability to manage various tasks efficiently and in a calm manner.
Duties
Provide legal support to attorneys, including managing calendars and scheduling appointments.
Draft, write, and transcribe estate planning legal documents and correspondence with attention to detail.
Conduct legal research using Westlaw and other resources to gather relevant information for cases.
Assist in the preparation of documents for probate court proceedings.
Maintain organized records of case files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and accessible.
Communicate effectively with clients and other parties involved in legal matters while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
File and record legal documents.
Support the team in managing deadlines and tracking important dates related to cases.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role within a law office setting for at least one year.
Knowledge of estate planning law is preferred but not mandatory.
Proficiency in using legal research tools such as Westlaw.
Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for effective client communication.
Familiarity with probates and filing documents with the court is preferred.
Ability to look up real property records and prepare deeds.
Prepare, scan, copy and distribute legal documents.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
environment.
