The Assistant Plant Supervisor position is based at the Leonard Valdosta, GA Plant, with operations in the U.S. and has overall responsibility for supporting plant operations by overseeing production, quality control, safety compliance, maintenance, inventory management, and employee supervision to ensure efficient and effective manufacturing processes in the company. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and does not have direct reports.

Job Responsibilities
- Assists in managing daily production activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization, to meet production targets and customer demands.
- Ensures that products meet quality standards and specifications by implementing quality control measures, conducting inspections, and addressing quality issues promptly.
- Promotes a culture of safety in the workplace by enforcing safety protocols, conducting safety training, and addressing safety concerns to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Collaborates with inventory control teams to maintain accurate inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and optimize inventory turnover to support production needs.
- Coordinates maintenance activities for plant equipment and machinery, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and upgrades, to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in plant operations, implementing best practices and lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Supervises and motivates production teams, providing leadership, guidance, and training to ensure that employees perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
- Monitors production metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track plant performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Maintains open communication channels with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, quality assurance, and logistics, to coordinate activities and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Assists in budget planning and cost control initiatives, monitoring expenses, and implementing cost-saving measures to optimize plant operations while meeting financial targets.
- Acting Plant Manager in the absence of the Plant Manager

Requirements
Competencies (skills, knowledge, and abilities):
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve performance goals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing software/systems.
- Certification in production and inventory management (e.g., CPIM) is desirable.
- High School Diploma, or equivalent required.
- Proven experience in plant operations or manufacturing management, with a strong background in production, quality control, and safety management.
This position requires minimal travel.
