Civil Works Estimating Specialist Responsibilities

1. Review construction plans, technical reports, and specifications to understand project requirements.
2. Import plans into AGTEK takeoff software and perform quantity takeoff to capture areas, lengths, and counts of materials.
3. Generate reports of takeoffs for demolition, clearing, grading, storm drains, water systems, sewer systems, retaining walls, paving & flatwork.
4. Visit proposed sites and investigate existing site conditions.
5. Transfer takeoff data into HCSS bidding software to create estimates.
6. Solicit quotations from preferred vendors and subcontractors and review quotations to identify best options.
7. Input selected quotation pricing into HCSS bidding software and save documents as PDF files.
8. Review takeoffs with Preconstruction Director and perform second check of quantities and calculations prior to drafting estimates.
