What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nutrition Dryer Operator position at Leprino Foods?
Short & Sweet: This position requires the safe operation of the whey dryer and bulk load out system in accordance with standard operating procedures while monitoring the quality of processed product.
Schedule:
- 12 HOUR SHIFTS
- 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM
- 2, 2, 3 rotation
- 24/7/365/Weekends/Holidays
Outline of Job Duties:
- Operate the dryer and associated systems.
- Load and unload liquid and dry whey to and from trucks.
- Monitor dryer settings and temperatures.
- React quickly and adjust / troubleshoot equipment to maintain product specifications.
- Complete Daily Checklists.
- Handle and test chemicals.
- Enter data into computer system.
- Monitor and test powder quality.
- Recognize and communicate potential deviant situations.
- Communicate clearly with the Quality Department, Cheese Production Operators and department management.
- Apply lockouts to equipment as required.
- Any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum
- Able to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Action oriented and the capacity to drive for results.
- This position requires the ability to utilize basic math skills and read in order to follow a checklist.
- Work in hot environment.
- Must be 18 years old
- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Must be able to support a 24/7/365 operation including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to lift 55 lbs. from floor to mid-chest (0" - 39") and climbs stairs and ladders hourly
Preferred
- Prior food industry experience
