Position Summary:
The Human Resources Community Specialist is a key member of the HR team, responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of employee onboarding, benefits administration, and fostering a positive community presence both within and outside the organization. This role requires a strong background in human resources practices, particularly onboarding and benefits, as well as the ability to engage with the community through speaking engagements and social media platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Onboarding: Lead the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience that aligns with organizational values.
- Employee Benefits: Administer and manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee-related benefits. Assist employees with benefits enrollment, questions, and issues.
- Community Engagement: Represent the organization at speaking engagements, community events, and conferences. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including potential partners, community leaders, and local organizations.
- Social Media Coordination: Develop and manage the organization's social media strategy, including content creation, posting, and engagement. Monitor social media trends to ensure the organization stays relevant and maintains a positive online presence.
- Human Resources Support: Provide all general HR support, including addressing employee inquiries, maintaining HR records, and assisting with performance management processes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to promote employee engagement, retention, and overall organizational success.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources, including significant experience in onboarding and employee benefits administration.
- Community Engagement & Public Speaking: Experience in public speaking and representing an organization at community events, conferences, or other speaking engagements.
- Social Media Expertise: Proficient in managing social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.) for a business or nonprofit organization. Experience creating engaging content and interacting with online communities.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse audiences.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of HRIS and benefits management software.
- Experience with non-profit organizations or in a mission-driven environment.
- Public relations experience, including crafting press releases or media outreach.
