Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Commercial Painter / Marine Painter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for prepping and painting boats in a variety of settings, working directly on-site at the docks. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with boat painting, including the preparation and application of coatings to ensure a high-quality finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prep boat surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking.
- Apply primers, topcoats, and specialized coatings to boats, ensuring a smooth and durable finish.
- Work with a variety of paints and coatings specifically designed for marine environments.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area while handling and storing paint and supplies.
- Ensure painting tasks are completed in accordance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Follow safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Keep records of materials used and project progress.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet deadlines and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in boat painting or related industries.
- Knowledge of marine-grade paints, primers, and coatings.
- Ability to properly prepare boat surfaces, including cleaning, sanding, and masking.
- Familiarity with using painting equipment like spray guns and brushes.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and at heights.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Preferred:
- Previous experience specifically painting boats.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and equipment for marine painting.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
