We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our dynamic law office, specializing in Marital and Family Law. Responsibilities
- Draft and file legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Assist attorney in managing legal case files and ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.
- Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents as needed.
- Provide executive administrative support by scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and organizing meetings.
- Preparing files, labels, and organizing case-related documents.
- Maintain an organized filing system for both physical and electronic documents.
- Communicate (phone and e-mail) with clients regarding case updates and necessary documentation.
- Support the preparation of case materials for hearings, trials (including exhibits), or negotiations.
- Performing general office duties, including photocopying, handling phones, e-filing, emailing, and faxing documents.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow within the office.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a legal assistant or similar role within a law office environment.
- Bilingual (Spanish and English): Candidates must be fluent in both languages.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to create clear and concise legal documents.
- Knowledge of Marital and Family Law is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
