Key Responsibilities

Assessment and Evaluation

• Conduct initial assessments to identify behavioral strengths and needs of students.
• Perform ongoing evaluations to monitor student progress related to their IEP goals.
• Facilitate Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) as needed to inform intervention strategies.

Development of Behavior Intervention Plans

• Collaborate with IEP teams to develop individualized behavior intervention plans based on assessment data.
• Ensure that behavior plans are tailored to meet the unique needs of each student while aligning with their educational objectives.

Implementation Oversight

• Supervise the implementation of behavior intervention plans by paraprofessionals and teaching staff.
• Provide training and support to school personnel on effective strategies for managing student behaviors.

Data Collection and Analysis

• Develop data collection systems for tracking student progress on behavioral goals.
• Analyze collected data to assess the effectiveness of interventions, making adjustments as necessary.

Collaboration with Educational Teams

• Actively participate in IEP meetings, providing insights and recommendations based on behavioral assessments.
• Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and parents to ensure consistent implementation of behavior strategies across settings.

Professional Development

• Provide training sessions for school staff on best practices in behavior management and intervention techniques.
• Share knowledge about evidence-based practices in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) relevant to the educational environment.

Support for Families

• Communicate regularly with families regarding their child’s progress and any adjustments made to behavior plans.
• Offer resources or referrals for additional community services as needed.

Compliance with Legal Standards

• Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations regarding special education services.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records in compliance with FERPA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.
• Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing.
• Experience working with school-age children, particularly those with behavioral challenges or special needs.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

Work Environment

• This position is both remote and in-person
• Flexibility in scheduling may be required to accommodate the needs of students across different time zones or schedules.
