Key Responsibilities
Assessment and Evaluation
- Conduct initial assessments to identify behavioral strengths and needs of students.
- Perform ongoing evaluations to monitor student progress related to their IEP goals.
- Facilitate Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) as needed to inform intervention strategies.
Development of Behavior Intervention Plans
- Collaborate with IEP teams to develop individualized behavior intervention plans based on assessment data.
- Ensure that behavior plans are tailored to meet the unique needs of each student while aligning with their educational objectives.
Implementation Oversight
- Supervise the implementation of behavior intervention plans by paraprofessionals and teaching staff.
- Provide training and support to school personnel on effective strategies for managing student behaviors.
Data Collection and Analysis
- Develop data collection systems for tracking student progress on behavioral goals.
- Analyze collected data to assess the effectiveness of interventions, making adjustments as necessary.
Collaboration with Educational Teams
- Actively participate in IEP meetings, providing insights and recommendations based on behavioral assessments.
- Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and parents to ensure consistent implementation of behavior strategies across settings.
Professional Development
- Provide training sessions for school staff on best practices in behavior management and intervention techniques.
- Share knowledge about evidence-based practices in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) relevant to the educational environment.
Support for Families
- Communicate regularly with families regarding their child’s progress and any adjustments made to behavior plans.
- Offer resources or referrals for additional community services as needed.
Compliance with Legal Standards
- Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations regarding special education services.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records in compliance with FERPA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.
- Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing.
- Experience working with school-age children, particularly those with behavioral challenges or special needs.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
Work Environment
- This position is both remote and in-person
- Flexibility in scheduling may be required to accommodate the needs of students across different time zones or schedules.
