MDS Coordinator
Responsibilities for this position include :
SCLM - Understands the current PPS financial payment system for skilled Medicare Part A and MDS automation transmission
Keep abreast of payer constraints and Medicare / Medicaid SNF billing requirements
Ensures that all Certified Nurses Aides have met the required number of in-service hours to maintain certification and be in compliance with all state and federal regulations
Oversee gathering of information for assessments and care plans
Manage a designated group of nursing employees on a nursing unit and assures smooth operations of the unit for a designated shift
Scope of work for the RN Charge Nurse may be modified by State specific rules under the Nurse Practice Act
At least one (1) years of nursing experience preferred
Coordinates all areas Functional Independence Measure (FIM) score capture and supportive documentation for the completion of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Patient Assessment Instrument (IRF-PAI)
Tracks FIM training completion and FIM competency of clinicians
Reviews medical records to assure that clinical documentation supports FIM scores
