Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, compassionate Patient Coordinator to support front office operations across our five locations. This position is crucial in ensuring seamless communication, exceptional patient service, and operational excellence across the practice. This position may require travel depending on the Practice needs. The coordinator will be assigned to different offices as directed by the Patient Access Manager.
Location & Schedule:
- Must have reliable transportation to travel between offices on short notice
- Monday–Friday, within the hours of 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (schedule varies within this range)
- Greet and check in/check out patients in a friendly, efficient manner
- Verify insurance and update patient records accurately
- Schedule appointments across all five offices
- Prepare, maintain, and audit paper patient charts
- Provide support in the call center and medical records department as needed
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and internal standard operating procedures
- Collaborate with the front office team to deliver excellent patient experiences
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a fast-paced medical office setting (ophthalmology preferred)
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive, self-motivated, and a quick learner
- Strong multi-tasking and active listening skills
- Empathetic, patient-first mindset
- Typing speed of 45 WPM
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Flexibility and willingness to travel between office locations as needed is required
