Lewis & Clark County Sheriff's Office is hiring a part-time Sobriety Compliance Technician. The shift is Sunday to Tuesday and every other Wednesday. Sundays are from 6:30am to 9:30am and 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Monday, Tuesday and every other Wednesday are 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
Under general direction of the Detention Sergeant, this position performs the daily functions of the sobriety compliance program.

It is comprised of over eighty employees including sworn officers, detention officers and professional support staff. The Sheriff's Office provides general law enforcement, detention functions, rural fire support and search and rescue operations for the citizens of Lewis & Clark County in a service area of over two million acres. Additionally, this agency provides specialized regional services to the entire county and contract law enforcement to specific areas.

Duties
- Perform breath and/or bodily fluid tests and accurately record and process results;
- Removes GPS bracelet when client successfully completes the program;
- Maintains records and completes documentation regarding participant compliance and test result documents shift activities as needed;
- Collects fees and reconciles financial transactions daily;
- Monitors compliance with applicable conditions of release;
- May provide court testimony in court proceedings;
- Attend monthly meetings and training events as needed;
- performs other duties as assigned.

- Operate Portable Breath Test instruments and Alcohol Monitoring Equipment;
- Collect and process urine samples;
- Understand and follow oral and/or written policies, procedures, and instructions;
- Maintain records according to prescribed standards and follow any established chain of evidence procedures;
- Establish effective working relationships with fellow employees, Law enforcement personnel, court personnel, attorneys, program participants, community members, equipment vendors, and supervisors;
- Review data and forms for accuracy;
- Record and conduct cash transactions according to prescribed standards;
- Read and understand various Court documents.
Qualifications
The knowledge, skills, and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and at least six (6) months of MS Word and Excel.
Special Requirements
Must pass a background check and a pre-employment drug test.
Physical Demands
Duties are generally performed in an office environment where hazards and discomforts are controlled and modifiable. This position requires the ability to stand, bend at the waist, kneel, reach over the head, talk, hear, and see. Must be able to move or lift documents and materials weighing up to 40 pounds. Position requires knowledge and use of typical office equipment including telephone, copiers, scanner, microfilm reader, fax machines and personal computer. Position requires frequent contact with co-workers, attorneys and citizens. Position requires working on call after hours.
