Position Overview:
As the Service Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our service department, ensuring that our customers receive the highest level of service and satisfaction. You will manage a team of technicians, service advisors, and other staff, while maintaining a smooth workflow, maximizing efficiency, and ensuring the department meets financial and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the service department, including service advisors, technicians, and support staff.
- Ensure that all customer concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
- Oversee repair orders, service appointments, and customer vehicle pick-up and delivery.
- Monitor department performance metrics and work to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Provide leadership and training to staff to enhance their technical skills and customer service abilities.
- Collaborate with the sales department to ensure that customers’ vehicle service needs are met.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by consistently delivering exceptional service.
- Manage service department budgets, parts inventory, and equipment maintenance.
- Stay current on manufacturer updates, recalls, and technical bulletins.
- Trains, motivates, counsels and monitors the performance of all service department staff.
- Strives for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments.
- Accounts for all documents; ensures that none are missing and all are processed correctly
- Holds weekly department meetings
- Directs and schedules the activities of all department employees.
- Monitors and follows up on parts orders with the parts manager to ensure availability.
- Monitors technicians' daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.

- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- In-depth knowledge of automotive service processes and industry best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of dealership management software and systems.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
