LC State invites applications for the position of Landscape Technician.
Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $15.86 - $18.26 per hour
Required Qualifications:
- At least six months or one season performing related work Home yard work is not qualifying experience unless it is for a very large and detailed landscape/grounds
- Grounds equipment operation, maintenance, and repair.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, coordinate and facilitate solutions, and analyze and resolve landscape issues.
- A valid driver's license is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree
- Knowledge of plants and soil types.
- Horticulture and professional landscaping practices.
- Knowledge of spraying of pesticides and herbicides.
- Basic pruning & irrigation knowledge.
Responsibilities:
Under supervision, to do routine gardening, general landscaping, and grounds maintenance work; may instruct, lead, or supervise temporary workers; operate and maintain related equipment; perform related work.
- Responsible for all aspects of landscaping, such as weeding, fertilizing, spraying, mulching, trimming hedges and cutting branches, and mowing lawns.
- Miscellaneous
a. Assists other landscape and crafts staff in performing their duties.
b. Uses snow blowers, lawnmowers, airlift platforms, dollies, and carts.
c. Removes waste and debris from areas.
d. Duties may include setting up bleachers, portable flooring, tables, and chairs for special events.
e. Shovels snow from walkways. - Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
