Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you would provide occupational therapy services to our patients utilizingtherapeutic modalities, exercises, and other treatment skillsas directed by the primary Occupational Therapist.You would communicate the patients condition and progress with the Occupational Therapist, as well as document patients treatment and status.

You would prepare patient for treatment as requested by the Occupational Therapist.

Address and review all goals in the plan of care with Occupational Therapist and patient.

Treat patients according to plan using conventional treatments methods using therapeutic modalities, while also applying critical thinking skills and potential alternatives to recommend to primary physical therapist.

Uses available and additional resources to reinforce patient related education or instructions and home exercise program

What qualifications you will need :

Graduation from an accredited COTA Program

License to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in Virginia

Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

One year of experience preferred.
