Position Summary:
As an Accountant at Lexair, you will play a crucial role in managing the company’s finances while supporting the CFO and accounting department functions. You will manage journal entries, reconciling accounts, support payroll, track production costs, and assist with financial reporting and analysis while ensuring compliance regulation and supporting internal or external audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Accounting:
- Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes along with quarterly and annual reporting.
- Review and ensure accuracy of financial transactions and statements.
- Support payroll processing, including the timely filing of tax returns and payments.
- Track and analyze costs associated with production.
- Support compliance and auditing efforts.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Assist in preparing financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Support the analysis of financial data to identify trends and discrepancies.
- Work with CFO to ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
- Software & Systems:
- Utilize accounting software for data entry and reporting.
- Help improve accounting processes and recommend software enhancements or upgrades as needed.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting files and records.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Support AP & AR to help ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Assist with cash flow management by tracking payments and collections.
- Other duties may be required as assigned by the Company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field with 2-3 years of experience OR 10 – 15 years of accounting department experience.
- Proven experience in accounting or financial role, preferably in a manufacturing environment but not required.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices; cost accounting experience is a plus but not required.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to resolving issues and improving processes.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- Primarily performed in an office environment, requiring prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and using a computer.
- Frequent use of hands to operate standard office equipment, including computers, calculators, and telephones.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., files, reports).
- May involve occasional overtime or extended hours during month-end or year-end periods, or peak business times.
- A collaborative work atmosphere that may include interaction with various departments and vendors.
