About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Geospatial Mapping Specialist to join our team. As a Survey Technician, you will be responsible for transforming surveys into precise digital maps using AutoCAD Civil3D or Carlson software. You will blend desk-bound expertise with occasional fieldwork to ensure accuracy and safety in our projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Research previous survey evidence, drawings, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for surveys.
- Determine methods and procedures for establishing or reestablishing survey control.
- Keep accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed.
- Coordinate findings with work of engineering personnel, customers, and others concerned with the project.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A sound understanding of Optical Survey Equipment (i.e. Total Stations, Theodolites and Auto Levels) for the applications of civil verifications, structural installation and alignment, mechanical installation, and alignment as well as experience of establishing work points, datum's, benchmarks, elevations, and control monuments.
- The ability to trouble shoot and come up with solutions on the job to keep the work moving forward.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.
- The willingness to travel and provide hand tools as required for the job.
