What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Ophthalmic Technician (3636) OPHTHALMOLOGY LC EAST position at Lexington Clinic?
SUMMARY:
The COT functions as a highly skilled/knowledgeable member of the patient care team, contributing to the health management of the patients; performs a variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for clinic patients, many in assistance to section physicians; maintains primary responsibility for all technical procedures and the operation and care of the clinical unit in the Ophthalmology department.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified Ophthalmic Technician will be defined by JCAHPO through applicable means of formal and/or on-the-job training. Formal training will be indicated by applicable experience in ophthalmology and patient care with exposure to patient care, sterile techniques and medical terminology; CPR certification; ability to read and understand medical information.
PHYSICAL GUIDELINES:
Physical guidelines include the ability to move, traverse, position self, remain in a stationary position and negotiate steps for up to eight hours per day; lift, move and transport patients and supplies; motor coordination and manual dexterity; visual acuity; and articulate speech.
