What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pathologists Assistant DAK (3214) DERMATOLOGY ASSOCIATES OF KY position at Lexington Clinic?
SUMMARY:
The Pathology Assistant will accurately examine and dissect skin and tissue specimens, prepare sections for processing, assist with Frozen sections when necessary, and assist with other technical duties as assigned by management and/or the pathologist.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
An earned associate degree in a chemical or biological science or medical laboratory technology, obtained from and accredited institution, OR
Education/training equivalent to the above that includes the following:
- 60 semester hours or equivalent from an accredited institution; must include 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses, OR 24 semester hours of science courses that include 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology, and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology in any combination, AND
- Laboratory training including either completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by the ABHES, NAACLA, or other organization approved by HHS, OR at least 3 months of recorded laboratory training in each specialty in which the individual performs high complexity testing.
PHYSICAL GUIDELINES:
Physical guidelines include the ability to move, traverse, position self, remain in a stationary position and negotiate steps for up to eights hours per day; reach/handle small objects; distinguish colors visual acuity.
