What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Coordinator position at Lexington County Blowfish?
The Lexington County Blowfish are seeking a highly motivated, energetic and professional individual to add to our Front Office staff in the full-time position of Operations Coordinator .
The Operations Coordinator will work closely with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager in running the organization on a day-to-day basis. This is a great opportunity to start your career in sports and baseball.
An individual with strong work ethic, attention to detail and organizational skills will excel in the position of Operations Coordinator.
The below items will be your main areas of concentration, especially in season. However, you will also assist in providing excellent customer service in the office, represent the organization at community events and assist in sales and ticket operations.
We are a small full-time staff who rely on effective communication and doing whatever is needed to ensure success for the organization on a daily basis.
Food and Beverage duties include :
- Assist general manager and assistant general manager with all food and beverage operations, including but not limited to menu planning, product ordering and receiving, inventory, equipment, set up and tear down of food and beverage areas (kitchen, portables, outdoor grill, all-you-can-eat tent and Stadium Club)
- Ensure ballpark food and beverage operations meet game day timelines and exceed fans expectations
- Assist general manager and assistant general manager with hiring, training and developing interns
- Willing to study and earn Servsafe Manager Certification
- Ensure compliance of all safety and sanitary standards
- All other duties as assigned

About the Blowfish :
Named after the best band of the 90s – Hootie and the Blowfish – the Blowfish are a summer collegiate baseball team located in Lexington, South Carolina, and affiliated with the Coastal Plain League. The Blowfish are famous for community engagement, all-you-can-eat ticket plans and providing affordable family fun at the ballpark. The Blowfish are locally-owned by Bill and Vicki Shanahan. The Blowfish have won two CPL championships (2023, 2012). The Blowfish also have been named CPL Organization of the Year four times.
The Blowfish are more than a baseball team. The organization regularly participates in and hosts community events throughout the year. The Blowfish host monthly networking and community luncheons inside the Stadium Club at the ballpark. The organization also puts on the annual Lexington County Chili Cookoff and Shamrock Parade.
