GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification to perform comprehensive maintenance and repairs on Lexington- Fayette Urban County Government¿s diverse fleet of heavy equipment, motor vehicles, and related systems
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Four (4) years of related experience
Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs scheduled preventative maintenance as needed to maintain optimum performance
Perform safety inspections
Diagnoses and repairs all performance deficiencies
Mentors and trains technicians
Fabricates parts and components as needed to make repairs
Maintains records of work performed
Maintains inventory of parts and supplies
Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE / CERTIFICATION
Valid Kentucky Commercial Driver¿s License (CDL) - Class B
Three (3) certifications from the list approved by Fleet Services (see addendum)
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16
Must furnish own tools
Must be accessible for on-call duty and ability to work weekends, holidays and emergencies as assigned
