Lexington Home Brands, a global manufacturer and marketer of home furnishings, and a recognized leader in innovative design, lifestyle merchandising, and aspirational marketing has an immediate job opening for a full-time Furniture Repair Person in its Plant 6 in Lexington, NC.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Refinish and touch-up areas on upholstered furniture.
Examine furniture to determine the extent of damage or deterioration, and decide on the best method for repair or restoration.
Fill and smooth cracks or depressions, remove marks and imperfections, and repair broken parts, using plastic or wood putty, glue, nails, and/or screws.
Remove old finishes and damaged or deteriorated parts, using hand tools, stripping tools, sandpaper, steel wool, abrasives, or solvents.
Smooth, shape, and touch-up surfaces to prepare them for finishing, using sandpaper, pumice stones, steel wool, chisels, sanders, or grinders.
Prepare surfaces for finish application
Perform related work as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience/Education:
- Minimum two (2) years preferred
- Required Skills:
Knowledge of furniture repair and preparatory techniques.
Ability to organize workload and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
