Upholstery Frame Designer
Ultra-Mek, Inc. is seeking an experienced frame designer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and managing technical drawings for new or revised products.
Ultra-Mek, Inc. is a family owned manufacturer of motion furniture hardware in Denton, NC. We provide complete design and engineering processes, assembly, and packaging of high quality innovative motion furniture hardware for the retail and healthcare furniture industries. Not only are our products proudly made in the USA but they are also locally made.
Job Summary:
The Upholstery Frame Designer will be responsible for creating innovative designs for motion furniture frames that meet customer specifications and project requirements. This individual must have proficiency in various design software, CNC router operations and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to bring concepts to life.
Job Description:
- Work with Engineering and Product Development to develop high-quality cost- efficient wood frames.
- Create 2D or 3D frame drawings in AutoCAD.
- Build market samples and pattern frame for frame plant.
- Create technical documentation such as assembly instructions and ECNs.
- Make all necessary changes to patterns that are needed to maintain quality.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5 years proficiency in design software including AutoCAD (SolidWorks is a plus).
- 5 years designing wood frames for motion furniture.
- Strong drafting skills with the ability to create accurate technical drawings.
- Ability to multi-task effectively and achieve the desired results.
- Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization; possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a results driven approach.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Proficiency in English is required (Bi-lingual English & Spanish a plus).
