Founded in 2021, Lexington Sporting Club is a soccer club that is a community-oriented organization focused on providing opportunities for youth development, fostering competition, and delivering exceptional professional soccer experiences.  Lexington SC includes a professional men’s team who will compete in the USL Championship League starting in 2025.  Lexington SC also launched a professional women’s team in 2024 that competes in USL Super League.  In addition to the professional teams, Lexington SC is comprised of a youth club with 1,000 players, a pre-professional women’s team in the USL W League, two indoor soccer facilities, a $20 million youth soccer complex, and a brand-new state-of-the-art soccer-specific stadium that opened in September of 2024.

JOB SUMMARY: 
 
Lexington SC is looking for an events manager with strong leadership skills in cross-functional collaboration, excellent communication skills and a strategic mindset to align special events with Lexington SC’s broader business goals. The ideal candidate for this position should have a passion for events, customer service, complex problem-solving skills, and a commitment to excellence.  
 
PRIMARY DUTIES: 

  • Work as an integral part of the marketing and events team to host best in class soccer events at the Lexington SC stadium. 
  • Lead efforts to deliver premium experiences to season ticket holders. 
  • Manage the sales, logistics, and coordination of special events at the Lexington SC Stadium  
  • Oversee all facets of special event management, including contract fulfillment, planning, setup, and execution 
  • Lead planning and execution of internal events including but not limited to quarterly meetings, recruitment events and off-site team building events. 
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple events and priorities with minimal oversight, organize and prioritize and to promptly react to professionally to difficult situations using good judgement and decision-making skills. 
  • Comfortable with tight time schedules and flexible and creative when dealing with last-minute requests and changes with events. 
  • Support department leaders in the execution of community events such as season ticket holder parties, festivals, and charitable efforts. 
  • Develop marketing strategies and content related to pursuing new special events at Lexington SC including but not limited to, business meetings, luncheons, holiday parties, and stadium rentals. 
  • Prospect and identify new opportunities for large-scale offseason events such as soccer tournaments, concerts and festivals. 
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports relating to sales, forecasting, budgeting, and lead generation. 
  • Work closely with the Food & Beverage team to develop menu and product offerings 
  • Conduct tours of the stadium to prospects, clients, and local community groups 
  • Join professional associations and attend networking events to promote awareness of our product offerings within the local business community 
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, vendors, and clients 
  • Ensure a high level of service is delivered to new and established clients with an emphasis on customer service 
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Minimum of (3-5) years of experience in event management 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; tenacious work ethic and strong written/verbal communication skills 
  • A desire to aggressively pursue new business and opportunities 
  • Superior communication, organization, and time management skills 
  • The ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, nights and holidays  
  • Exceptional customer service skills 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in business, facility management, event management, hospitality management, marketing or related field 
  • This role is located in Lexington, KY and is not eligible for remote work
