Our client, a national health benefits provider, is seeking a Business Project Manager to provide consultative guidance to their in-house legal project managers and corporate affairs teams.
Long term contract position 1 year with the potential to be hired as a direct hire employee.
The hourly rate is based on experience. $80.00-$150.00 per hour.
- Location: St. Louis, Missouri. Hybrid- 3 days in office. Tues and Wed required. Will potentially consider someone outside of the state and remote with exact experience position requires.
- WORK HOURS: Traditional Work hours: 8:00am-4:00pm / 9:00am-5:00pm.
JOB DESCRIPTION :
Business Project Manager – Legal Project Management Office
This role will help drive the mission of the Legal Operations & Shared Services team – which is to provide centralized support to Healthcare Providers Legal & Corporate Affairs department. Our goal is to drive efficiency and create value through improved technology, best in class processes and to strengthen governance both internally and with external vendors. This role will manage a small team of legal project managers and will collaborate with key stakeholders to intake, aggregate, prioritize, schedule, and execute strategic legal initiatives and process improvement projects.
The qualified project management professional must be able to able to manage large, complex cross-functional initiatives that span across the entire Legal & Corporate Affairs department and provide support for enterprise-wide programs or initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of benchmarking, business process analysis, change management, metrics development and measurement and have experience compiling and delivering executive-level status reports. A demonstrated ability to lead project management teams supporting a legal and/or compliance function is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Legal Project Management Office (LPMO) as it provides support for cross functional projects and improvement initiatives
- Identify and implement best practices that will drive overall efficiency for the Legal & Corporate Affairs Department
- Partner with key leaders within the Legal Operations & Shared Services team as well as leaders within entire Legal & Corporate Affairs department to ensure process improvements align with overall enterprise strategy & goals
- Define the metrics and KPIs to measure success of each project and the overall LPMO program
- Lead change management efforts associated with implementing new processes
- Collaborate with matrix partners such as technology team, Information Protection Team, Finance and others
Develop and maintain project artifacts, documentation, and playbooks
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- Project management professional certification strongly preferred
- 8-10 years relevant project management experience with at least 5 years supporting a legal and/or compliance department
- Must have strong organizational skills
- Proven track record of leading enterprise scale, complex projects successfully
- Demonstrated attention to detail & the ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and priorities
- Ability to create professional presentations and document project maps using PowerPoint, Excel and VISIO required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
- Ability to collaborate and build strong professional relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across a variety of audiences
- This is a legal project; legal background is NOT required. Preferred experience to fall within jobs adjacent to legal projects such as PM work in Corporate HR, Finance, business.
