Position Overview

The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the company's internal network infrastructure consisting of Cisco Equipment and Firepower Firewalls, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role involves advanced troubleshooting, project management, and collaboration with various departments to support both networking and systems / application needs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and troubleshooting complex network infrastructures, along with proficiency in network security practices. They should possess relevant certifications, strong leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills to work effectively across teams and with stakeholders.

This role will require some evening and weekend hours for project completion or communication with Headquarters technical resources.

This position will report to the Sr. Manager, IT.

Primary Responsibilities

Network Management :

Design, configure, and maintain the company's Corporate network and WiFi infrastructure consisting of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls and Aruba WiFi access points.

Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime.

Collaborate with LGES Headquarters on MPLS based WAN communication design and implementation for access to key HQ systems.

Provide IT helpdesk support, resolving network-related issues for end users.

Security :

Implement and maintain network security measures, including Cisco FTD firewalls and IPSEC site to Site and Secure ClientVPNs.

Manage Cisco Umbrella in collaboration with System Administrators.

Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Develop and enforce security policies and procedures.

Systems and Applications :

Provide advanced troubleshooting for systems and applications, ensuring seamless integration with the network.

Collaborate with IT teams to support server and application infrastructure.

Manage and maintain network-related software and tools.

Diagnose and resolve connectivity, performance, and security issues across LAN / WAN and VPN environments.

Project Management & Continuous improvement :

Lead network-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.

Coordinate with vendors and service providers for network-related services and equipment.

Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.

Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending improvements.

Documentation and Reporting :

Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures.

Using tools such as PRTG and Solarwinds, generate regular reports on network performance, security incidents, and project status.

Provide training and support to junior network administrators and IT staff.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Education :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.

Experience :

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in network administration.

Proven experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.

Experience with network security practices and tools.

Skills :

Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).

Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco network devices.

Familiarity with systems and applications for advanced troubleshooting (e.g., Windows Server, Linux, virtualization platforms).

Experience working with Aruba Wireless controllers and infrastructure.

Experience working with Cloud based-systems including Entra and AWS.

Experience with network analysis and benchmarking tools such as protocol analyzers, sniffers, etc.

Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead and coordinate multiple projects.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
