LHH is assisting our construction and distribution client in their search for a qualified Accounting Manager to add to their growing team. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for supporting the Controller in leading general accounting and AP functions within the accounting team, with a focus on ensuring timely and accurate completion of month end close, GAAP accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and internal controls and process efficiency in preparation for audit and monthly financial reporting. Key responsibilities :
- Assist the Controller in leading month and year end financial close processes to a timely target completion.
- Performing and reviewing balance sheet account reconciliations and ensuring timely completion of reconciliations of the accounting team.
- Supporting in analyzing the trial balance for proper account balances and trends and understanding of accounting actions effect on resulting financial statements.
- Oversee the Accounts Payable function and team with a focus on developing team skillsets, implementing best practices, controls, and process efficiencies
- Support the Controller in completing an accurate and timely annual audit.
- Lead the accounting functions for more complex accounting areas such as revenue and expense accruals, capital assets and leases in accordance with ASC842, Intercompany transactions, and ASC606 revenue recognition.
- Ensure cross-training on the GL and AP functions are completed and coverage is coordinated as needed during times of transition or time off.
- Support other areas of the accounting team as needed such as, but not limited to, Payroll, AR, FP&A
