Job Type: Full-Time, Contract-to-hire
Overview: We are seeking a self-directed and highly skilled Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician to monitor and analyze the network and systems information technology infrastructure for our organization. This role involves working with a diverse range of technologies, including Windows and Linux servers, MS SQL, IIS, Apache, Azure SaaS/PaaS, Microsoft 365, VMware virtualization, Active Directory, mobile devices, HPE/Aruba, Meraki, VeloCloud, and IoT medical devices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor and analyze the operation of the organization's wide-area, local area, and wireless networks, including associated hardware, software, and SaaS solutions.
Act as an escalation point for IT Technical Support staff for any system or network-related incidents.
Assist in installing, monitoring, and administering network extensions to accommodate new sites, systems, and equipment.
Monitor and evaluate the usage of Internet and Intranet websites for performance, capacity planning, and security policy compliance.
Troubleshoot physical DELL & HPE servers, SAN/NAS storage appliances, VMware, LAN/WAN/WLAN equipment, Azure SaaS/PaaS, integrations, and software problems.
Understand and interpret error conditions and messages, assisting in performing required corrective actions.
Perform tasks related to disaster recovery and business continuity plans to meet strict RPOs and RTOs while maintaining SLAs.
Assist in analyzing configuration changes on the system (network, hardware, software).
Analyze the security, reliability, and availability of the infrastructure to support the organization's growth.
Perform capacity planning and analysis.
Provide guidance and mentorship to IT Technical Support staff.
Collaborate with NOC, SOC, Technical Support, Telecom, Project Management, and Product Development teams in a highly collaborative and fast-paced work environment.
Required Qualifications:
At least 2 years of experience in Information Systems and in the installation, configuration, administration, and management of data network hardware and software.
High school diploma or equivalent.
CompTIA A required.
CompTIA Network , Microsoft Technology Associate, CompTIA Security , and Cisco CCNA preferred.
Intermediate level knowledge and training in network management, TCP/IP troubleshooting, and a wide array of hardware and software technologies.
Some training and experience in server and network hardware and software, including MS Solutions, VMware, and Azure virtualization.
Intermediate level troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Working knowledge of and demonstrated competency in applying current concepts of network design (LANs, WANs, WLANs, segmentation, gateways, routers, network switches, hubs, TCP/IP, and Ethernet protocols).
Working knowledge of and demonstrated competency in applying current concepts of system design (OS, CIS hardening, GPO, virtualization, Just in Time Access, Just Enough Access, API/information integrations, identity Provider/SSO, high-availability, backup/restore best practices).
Other Requirements:
Ability and means to travel as needed within San Diego County, to locations that may have limited access to public transportation.
Proof of liability and property damage insurance on the vehicle used.
Driver's license with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience, no more than 2 violations and/or accidents within 3 years, no vehicle-related suspensions/reinstatements, and no DUI, reckless, or felony driving within 7 years.
Compensation: $25-36/hr
