Do you deliver customer service with empathy and enjoy helping patients on the administrative side?LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Patient Registration Specialist for a contract role in Chicago with the potential to become a permanent position This role involves reviewing patient registration for all types of admissions and elective procedures to ensure that patient and guarantor demographic and insurance information is complete and current with each patient visit. Key Responsibilities:
Accurately collect, verify, and enter patient demographic, employer, financial, emergency contact, insurance, subscriber, and case-specific information into Epic.
Ensure patients sign and scan all necessary documents for the completion of the admission process, including consent forms, ID, insurance cards, and other required documents.
Obtain and interpret patient insurance benefits and communicate this information accurately to patients and co-workers.
Determine and communicate patient financial obligations with respect and accuracy.
.Perform registration functions in compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulatory agencies, payer requirements, and organizational policies and procedures, including HIPAA privacy and security regulations.s and collecting patient financial responsibilities
Inform patients of hospital policies and discuss financial responsibilities for upcoming visits/procedures, past due balances, and referral requirements.
Respond to telephone inquiries from patients, payers, physicians, and other entities, providing excellent customer service.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration is preferred but only High School Diploma is needed.
Experience in a hospital or clinic environment, health insurance company, managed care organization, or other healthcare financial service setting.
Knowledge of insurance and governmental programs, regulations, and billing processes (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security Disability).
Working knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy and physiology.
Pay Details: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour
