LHH is looking for a full-time Payroll Clerk to join our client growing company in Bellevue, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.
Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of payroll processing while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. This role is vital in supporting our employees and maintaining seamless payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities :
Accurately process payroll on a regular schedule, including calculating wages, overtime, deductions, and bonuses.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
Maintain and update payroll records, including employee information, tax forms, and timesheets.
Handle payroll adjustments, such as salary changes, tax withholdings, and benefit deductions.
Respond to and resolve employee inquiries regarding payroll-related issues promptly and professionally.
Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to process new hires, terminations, and compensation adjustments.
Prepare and file payroll tax reports, including quarterly and annual filings.
Assist with audits by providing documentation and ensuring payroll compliance.
Generate and distribute payroll-related reports for management and finance purposes.
Stay current with changes in payroll laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Experience : 2 years of payroll experience, preferably in a similar role.
Technical Skills : Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Knowledge : Strong understanding of payroll processes, wage laws, and tax regulations.
Soft Skills : Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications :
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a strong advantage.
Experience processing multi-state or international payrolls.
Familiarity with accounting principles and general ledger reconciliation.
Compensation : $25-$32 / hour DOE
