Job Title: Purchasing Coordinator (Temporary)
Location: Nashville, TN
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (8-hour shifts with a 30-minute meal break)
Job Type: 6 month contract with possibility of extension!
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will process special purchase requests, manage vendor requisitions, and maintain accurate records to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate is highly adaptable, a strong communicator, and excels in collaborative team environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Process special purchase requests promptly and accurately.
Handle online requisitions for assigned vendors within 24 hours.
Review and update OREC reports weekly.
Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies within 48 hours.
Validate and correct EDI and fax confirmations to prevent service failures.
Communicate effectively with departments regarding purchases.
Report supplier or customer performance issues as per policies.
Work with the Purchasing Manager to optimize processes like EDI and electronic faxing.
Ensure compliance with the Market Purchasing Policy.
Track emergency deliveries using the expedited log.
Perform additional duties as assigned, adhering to the company’s Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statement.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED (required).
Experience: 1-3 years in purchasing or order entry (preferred).

Customer Focus: Creates service practices that meet organizational and customer needs.

This is a temporary role and will not transition to a permanent position.
