What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant - Long Term Contract position at LHH Recruitment Solutions?
LHH is assisting our client in their search for a Senior Accountant on a contract basis. This will be a year long assignment. The role will be primarily remote, but will require an in office presence every once in a while in Jacksonville, FL.
The Senior Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the precise and timely documentation of financial transactions, overseeing monthly closing procedures, and preparing reconciliations. This position not only handles essential accounting tasks but also provides strategic leadership and financial insights to the management team.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately document accounting transactions in a timely manner.
Execute a variety of accounting tasks, including intercompany invoicing, general ledger journal entries, accruals, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
Prepare account reconciliations and accompanying schedules.
Manage inventory account reconciliations and related schedules.
Maintain and update fixed asset records.
Oversee the monthly closing process and compile financial reports.
Conduct ad-hoc analyses and reporting as needed.
Support financial audits by preparing schedules and providing necessary documentation.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
Prepare and submit sales and use tax returns.
Complete annual business and property tax returns, along with other required statutory filings.
Offer accounting expertise and support to team members.
Lead initiatives aimed at improving accounting processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field; CPA and/or MBA/MA preferred.
3 years of relevant accounting experience.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for teamwork.
Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications and tools, thriving in a remote work environment.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Comfortable in an Agile environment, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing changes.
Ability to interpret complex legal contracts and apply relevant accounting principles.
Strong technological aptitude for quickly learning various subsidiary ledger software systems.
Occasional travel may be required.
Pay Details: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour
