Accounting Manager ($95,000 - $105,000 Discretionary Performance-Based Bonus )
Fully Onsite in North Austin – additional occasional travel required
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Accounting Manager for a rapidly growing company in the construction industry located in the north Austin area. This role will support regional accounting functions and reports directly to the Regional CFO. The position involves managing AP, AR, cash functions, month-end and year-end closings, financial statement preparation for audits, and other high-level accounting duties.
In addition to holding a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, the ideal candidate will have approximately 5 years of general ledger accounting experience, at least three years in the construction, engineering, and architecture (CE&A) industry, and strong analytical and project management skills. Strong proficiency in Excel is required, and experience with NetSuite is preferred. Responsibilities
- Manage and ensure the accuracy of accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and cash subledgers.
- Oversee and maintain the integrity of financial statements through balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review and process standard end-of-month journal entries.
- Support project accounting functions, including percentage-of-completion (POC) and work-in-progress (WIP) calculations.
- Collaborate with regional and headquarters accounting teams for month-end and year-end closings and audit preparations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including sales and use taxes, property taxes, and 1099 filings.
- Identify and recommend process improvements for accounting operations.
- Perform financial analysis and other ad hoc projects as directed by the Regional CFO.
Client Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of general ledger accounting experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in the construction, engineering, and architecture (CE&A) industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with NetSuite ERP is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Ability to travel occasionally to Dallas, Houston, and north Austin areas (approximately once per month).
