What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Accounting Manager position at LHH?
LHH is partnering with a manufacturing client looking for a Cost Accounting Manager. The Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for maintaining accounting processes to control and analyze the cost of business activities and inventory.
Responsibilities:
- Create inventory reports and book month end inventory details into the general ledger
- Analyze job costing, plant related costs, and maintain best practice for operating and accounting procedures
- Plan and verify business activity costs including job costs, raw material purchases, and scrap
- Analyze labor costs and make recommendations for efficiency
- Assist with physical inventory and cycle counts
- Lead the cost accounting function for financial period close processes and related analysis
- Review and report on drivers of manufacturing performances and trends
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA a plus
- 3-6 years of Cost Accounting Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Possess a strong aptitude for cost systems, excellent analytical skills, and accounting processes
- Experience using ERP software, Great Plains and Sage experience a plus
- Advanced Excel Skills
