This role is ideal for someone with experience in healthcare law, regulatory compliance, operations, M&A, and other healthcare-related matters. The successful candidate will support legal teams in navigating complex healthcare regulations and transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance Support: Assist in ensuring compliance with healthcare laws and regulations, such as HIPAA, Stark Law, and the False Claims Act.
- Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A): Provide paralegal support in the due diligence process, contract review, and preparation for healthcare-related M&A transactions.
- Legal Research & Documentation: Conduct legal research and prepare summaries on healthcare laws, regulations, and case law to support legal teams.
- Contract Management: Assist in the drafting, review, and management of provider agreements, business associate agreements, and other healthcare-related contracts.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Help with the preparation of internal policies and procedures related to healthcare compliance and legal matters.
- Operations Support: Provide legal assistance to operational teams, ensuring legal alignment with healthcare services, including patient care protocols.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s degree or a Paralegal Certification from an accredited institution. A bachelor’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on healthcare law, regulatory compliance, and M&A.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance issues (e.g., HIPAA, Stark Law).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools (LexisNexis, Westlaw, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Licensing: Paralegal certification (Preferred) and knowledge of Tennessee state laws.
