What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Controller position at LHH?
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate accounting records, ensure timely completion of standard procedures, and continuously improve controls and business solutions to mitigate financial risk.
- Prepare annual budgets, financial reports, cost reports, financial forecasts, and regulatory reports.
- Analyze variances and provide explanations.
- Oversee the month end close process, ensure journal entries are completed, and manage report generation, including purchase price variance analysis, production variance analysis, cost savings, balance sheet reconciliations, and spending analysis.
- Prepare and distribute periodic financial analyses or business summaries for plants, areas, or groups, including insightful commentaries on issues, opportunities, and action plans.
- Provide routine or ad hoc analyses and communicate significant financial performance variances to leadership.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities, develop strategies, understand internal business operations, and make decisions on process development and implementation to enhance efficiencies and achieve cost savings.
- Ensure a positive cash position, protect assets, identify profit improvement opportunities, and comply with all regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of inventory transactions, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and internal controls.
- Lead personnel in monitoring and maintaining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), participate in process improvement teams, and assist with cost savings initiatives.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related.
- 8 years of progressive experience in finance and/or accounting.
- 3 years of experience leading an accounting team effectively.
- Supervisory experience.
- Advanced knowledge of general accepted accounting principles (GAAP) related to accounting and financial reporting.
- Advanced computer proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially Excel and other company systems.
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, and present large amounts of data in an executive-level format.
- Able to analyze and make recommendations from large amounts of data.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
Salary : $95,000 - $115,000
