Power Systems Manager

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Power Systems Manager to join our team onsite. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the design, development, and testing of in-house battery packs and Battery Management Systems (BMS). You will play a pivotal role in advancing our energy storage solutions and ensuring the seamless integration of these systems into our applications. As a key member of the team, you will have the chance to influence the future of our power systems, driving innovation and excellence.
Job Purpose:
- Lead the full lifecycle of battery pack development, from concept to integration, ensuring high performance and safety.
- Oversee the in-house design, assembly, and testing of battery packs, meeting rigorous quality standards.
- Design and implement custom Battery Management Systems (BMS) with a focus on circuit design, ensuring robust monitoring, control, and optimization of battery performance.
- Ensure effective communication of battery data to the flight computer via protocols such as CANBUS.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align battery system performance with application requirements.
- Drive testing and validation processes, including functionality, durability, and safety evaluations, in various environments.
- Leverage knowledge of solar power systems to optimize battery charging processes and energy utilization.
- Integrate battery systems seamlessly with solar energy sources, ensuring efficient power transfer and system operation.
- Provide insights into solar-powered energy storage systems and their impact on overall power management.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5 years of experience in the field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or technical lead role.
- Proven experience in battery pack design, development, and testing.
- Expertise in BMS design, including circuit design for monitoring, control, and communication protocols (e.g., CANBUS).
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams effectively.
- Comprehensive knowledge of battery safety standards, thermal management, and energy storage technologies.
- Understanding of solar power systems and their integration with battery systems.
- Attention to detail and exceptional problem-solving abilities.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with high-voltage battery systems and their safety considerations.
- Knowledge of simulation tools and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
- Experience with manufacturing processes for battery pack assembly.
- Familiarity with thermal and mechanical design considerations for energy storage systems.
- Experience with DC-DC converter design could be an extra advantage.
