Project Engineer
Location: Lyndhurst, VA
Salary: $75K - $105K (DOE)
Travel: 2-3 times per year for 1-week trips
About the Role
LHH is supporting our client in their search for a Project Engineer in Lyndhurst, VA. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow into a Project Manager position, with hands-on experience managing small to medium-scale refrigeration construction projects. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of projects while ensuring on-time delivery, on-budget completion, and adherence to safety and quality standards. In the first 6 months, you will receive guidance from a Senior Project Manager to gain the skills necessary to advance into a Project Manager role. This position provides room for growth, with potential career paths to senior project management, service management, engineering management, or production management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage small to medium-scale refrigeration projects from award to commissioning and final punch list completion
- Ensure safe worksite practices and maintain communication with building owners and contractors
- Develop and manage project schedules to meet contractor timelines
- Track materials, staffing, and vendor relationships
- Create and maintain lasting relationships with vendors (national and local)
- Oversee the scope management of projects and ensure cost controls
- Assist in engineering design reviews and ensure timely completion of procurement needs
- Perform other duties as necessary to ensure project success

- Travel availability for 2-3 weeks per year
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 1-3 years of project management or engineering experience
