What are the responsibilities and job description for the Property Accountant position at LHH?
Our client is looking to hire a Property Accountant or Senior Property Accountant to join their growth-oriented local real estate company. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accountant to oversee general accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for working with a small, tight-knit group of individuals.
What You Need:
- Strong proficiency in Excel
- At least 1 year of experience in property accounting
- Partnership accounting experience (preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements
- Comfortability with real estate accounting software (i.e. Yardi, MRI, RealPage, etc.)
What You'll Do:
- Oversee general ledger review, journal entries, and AP coding
- Manage fixed asset accounting, management fee invoices, and tax reporting
- Handle W-9 and 1099 reporting, audit support, and compliance
- Manage operating expense recoveries, billings, and unclaimed property reporting
- Assist with annual budgets and special projects as necessary
- Prepare monthly financial statements, workpapers, and CAM reconciliations
- Collaborate closely with property managers and vendors
What You'll Get:
- Competitive salary up to $90,000 for Property Accountant and up to $105,000 for Senior Property Accountant, plus a 5-10% bonus
