What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager - Contract to Hire position at LHH?
LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a no-profit organization located in the Loop that is looking to bring on a Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager on a Contract to Hire basis. The client is in need of a candidate that has had experience with Grant Accounting and has a blend of month end & monthly reporting experience. The client is on a hybrid schedule and this position could become remote. The person taking on this role would be responsible for the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly/quarterly financial statements
- Prepare balance sheet and bank reconciliations, as well as preparation of journal entries
- Supervise accounts payable and cash applications
- Preparation and maintenance of the annual budget
- Reviewing contracts
- Working with Federal Grants
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required
- Prior experience handling month end close duties in the non-profit industry experience is required
- Prior experience working with Federal Grants
- 4 years of Grant Accounting experience is required
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail is a must.
