With 4 years of general and financial reporting expertise, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact. We are searching for a detail-oriented professional with a keen eye for deadlines. As the overseer of day-to-day general accounting operations, you will report directly to the Controller.
Responsibilities:
📊 Take charge of month-end closing activities, including journal entry preparation and account analysis/reconciliations.
📚 Record general ledger activity across various business lines.
💡 Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
🔍 Exhibit a deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
🏢 Manage accounting for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals (including national advertising marketing fund), and deferred/earned revenue.
💼 Prepare complex bank reconciliations.
📉 Generate Sales and Use tax returns, including check requests.
💪 Support accounts receivable by assisting with escalated franchisee customer service needs, collections, and annual billing.
🔎 Review and propose enhancements to accounting systems and procedures.
🎯 Identify errors and recommend strategies to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications/Requirements:
🎓 Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
💼 5 years of experience in accounting/finance.
🏢 Public accounting or public/private experience is a plus.
💡 Strong problem-solving skills, solid understanding of basic accounting principles, meticulous documentation skills, adeptness in research and resolution, exceptional data analysis ability, and excellent multitasking skills.
📊 Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, V-lookups, and sum ifs.
