Senior Accountant
LHH Professional Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Senior Accountant for our Houston area client. The ideal candidate will have a sound background in full cycle general ledger accounting, month-end close, account analysis and cross department collaboration. This is an opportunity fit for a self-starter who is system and excel savvy seeking a role within an organization that provides great exposure.
Primary responsibilities of the Senior Accountant role include:
- Assist / lead month-end close process – journal entries, variance analysis, financial reporting
- Prepare accurate financial reports and distribute them timely to Company’s Management
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure proper supporting documentation
- Assist with semi-annual budget process, external audits, sales tax reporting, property tax renditions
- Ad hoc financial reports and special projects, as needed
- Identify areas for process improvements
Primary qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 3 years of progressive experience in accounting
- CPA, a plus
- Sound accounting knowledge and application thereof
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, formulas, conditional formatting, graphs, etc.)
