Senior Accountant
LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for an experienced accounting professional for a growing client just north of Cincinnati, OH. Ideal candidates will have at least 4-5 years of accounting experience along with strong Excel skills and experience in the construction or manufacturing industries. This position is direct hire and will pay between $70K and $90K annually.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the accounting operations, including the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Perform percentage of completion accounting for long-term construction projects, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and cost allocation.
- Handle lease accounting in compliance with ASC 842, including the identification, classification, and measurement of lease agreements.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance to senior management.
- Coordinate with project managers to monitor project budgets, costs, and profitability.
- Ensure timely and accurate billing and collection of accounts receivable.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and liaise with external auditors during audits.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in percentage of completion accounting and lease accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
