Senior Controls Engineer
Location: Sutherlin, OR (Onsite)
Compensation: $150K–$180K (flexible) Relocation Assistance
Our client, a leading engineering and manufacturing company, is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to drive innovation in control panel design and engineering automation. This is a leadership role overseeing a team of 10–12 engineers, technicians, and developers, reporting directly to the VP of Controls.

What You’ll Do
- Lead the deployment and integration of EPLAN Engineering Configurator (EEC) to automate design and manufacturing workflows.
- Develop and maintain a preferred components library to streamline engineering and production.
- Oversee control panel design and ensure compliance with UL codes, SCADA, and industrial control standards.
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing to optimize product offerings and market alignment.
- Drive engineering automation, process improvement, and standardization to enhance efficiency.
- Manage a team of engineers, technicians, and developers, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in control panel design and industrial automation.
- EPLAN expertise is a must – including schematic design, component libraries, and automation tools.
- Strong knowledge of SCADA, UL508A, UL698A, NEC, NFPA, VFDs, instrumentation, and industrial protocols.
- Proven leadership experience, managing technical teams and driving engineering initiatives.
- Experience in product management and market strategy is a plus.
