Job Opportunity: Staff Accountant
LHH is working with a well-established leader in the spirits industry based out of Jersey City, NJ, and are searching to hire a dedicated Staff Accountant to join their finance team.
Position Overview
The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate and timely financial data. This position involves various accounting tasks, including general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
- Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports.
- Maintain and update accounting records and files.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting principles.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
