What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply Chain Logistics Manager position at LHH?
LHH has partnered with a quickly expanding manufacturer in the Gainesville area in the search for a Supply Chain & Logistics Manager who will be central in ensuring the smooth flow of goods and materials into and out of manufacturing sites. The ideal candidate brings 3 - 6 years of experience managing logistics, vendors, and inventory; coordinating cross-functionally on a daily basis; managing and leading small teams of logistics and supply chain professionals; and negotiating with vendors. KPI Reporting and Analysis, Safety and Compliance, BOM, and procurement will also be crucial duties.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee logistics operations for inbound and outbound freight and trucking (excluding transportation between plants).
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and a wide range of vendors.
- Negotiate contracts and handle procurement for different categories of the bill of materials (BOM).
- Work closely with Sales, Production, Scheduling, and Customer Service teams to address needs such as receipt of materials (RMA) and customer credits. Support the coordination of inventory allocation, factory production submissions, and BOM management.
- Assist Sales, Marketing, and Service teams in achieving their objectives by ensuring timely communication of relevant supply chain details and meeting program or event deadlines.
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external partners. Communicate effectively regarding purchase orders, overdue orders, lead times, and alignment on production schedules and long-term demand.
- Oversee day-to-day inventory operations and activities, review stock status reports, and manage inventory records. Address discrepancies, maintain accuracy, and recommend improvements to inventory techniques and procedures.
- Plan daily assignments for inventory staff, set goals, communicate expectations, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Supervise and lead a team of 5 direct reports.
- Ensure a safe and healthy workplace by implementing and maintaining safety and compliance procedures. Address any compliance issues and ensure that direct reports are aware of and follow company policies.
- Create, analyze, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor supply chain performance. Communicate results and collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to develop countermeasures and plan for future needs.
- Prepare reports, summaries, and analyses related to inventory and supply chain topics. Communicate findings with appropriate management and participate in special projects as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3 - 6 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain management, or a related field, with strong manufacturing or fabrication experience preferred.
- Proven ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
- Strong purchasing, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience in raw materials purchasing, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with company policies related to Human Resources, Safety, Quality, and Environment.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
