What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Excellence Manager position at Lhoist?
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
Initiate implementation of the Lhoist Maintenance Improvement Program (enhanced Pyramid)
- Audit/assess plant’s current maintenance organization & performance
- Identify the gaps with best practices as defined in Lhoist Maintenance Framework (Pyramid)
- Define (with plant teams) implementation roadmap, concepts to implement, action plans & resources
- Communicate on implementation plan & onboard all stakeholders
Drive implementation & local change management of the Lhoist Maintenance Improvement Program
- Establish ‘project management’ governance
- Drive implementation using the Lhoist Maintenance Pyramid/Framework methodologies & templates
- Coach & support site teams including ‘hands-on’ & ‘shopfloor’ support
- Identify training needs and execute trainings to further strengthen and broaden the local knowledge basis. Train, coach and support on-site teams
- Animate/Lead internal organization of improvement workshops
- Align with other stakeholders (Group/Country Maintenance experts, Procurement, IT…) to ensure appropriate support
- Monitor & communicate on progress & benefits (KPI’s) of implementation
Exchange best practices
- Contribute to best practices forums and platforms within Lhoist.
- Facilitate best practice sharing (e.g. organization of maintenance days, periodic calls or newsletters; etc.)
ATTRIBUTES:
- Strong interpersonal skills – able to motivate site teams, efficiently involve all stakeholders, and run team workshops
- Good communication skills - able to communicate in a very structured and clear way at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent understanding of state-of-the-art maintenance reliability techniques & management systems.
- Strong understanding of SAP (PM module, accounting & reporting systems)
- Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools, methods and processes
- Proficient in Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Project, Power Point and Access)
- Hands on and “can-do” attitude/customer service mentality
- Demonstrated experience as change agent and facilitating change in professional organizations.
- Demonstrated experience presenting and training maintenance personnel at all levels of the organization.
- Goal-oriented mind set with structured problem-solving approach
- Strong organization and basic project management skills
- Read, write, and interpret documents such as work orders, safety rules, standard operating procedures, electrical drawings, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Physical Demands include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to travel 50% to regional Lhoist sites
- Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to high temperatures, noise, and dust.
- Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
- Able to lift over 70 pounds.
