What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrician position at Libbey?
The Industrial Electrician role provides superior maintenance in installing, operating, maintaining, and repairing electric devices and electrical wiring at the Toledo Plant. This includes a variety of tasks relating to setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Install conduit and wiring for lighting, power circuits, and power control equipment
Install wiring, motors, drives, and new shop equipment per prints and instructions of the Electrical Shop Supervisor and Electrical Engineers
Safely work on 4160 Volt, 480 Volt, 110 -220 Volt, and DC Voltages
Ability to work as a group on construction projects or as an individual
Troubleshoot and repair all electrical equipment such as A.C. and D.C. motors, controls, transformers, electrical instruments, electronic equipment, elevators, limit switches, safety equipment, shrink wrap machine, robots, etc.
Responsible for the continuous operation of all electrical equipment
Analyze and locate source of electrical trouble with a minimum delay
Must know the location of all sprinkler valve controls and be responsible, in case of fire, for cutting off electrical equipment endangered by the fire
Monitor Plant Systems, compressors, boilers, water, etc.
Responsible for Powerhouse operations on back shifts and weekends
Complies with all safety requirements set forth by the Plant Environmental Health & Safety Department ad general safety
Must wear all PPE required for ARC Flash
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Must have skilled trades Electrician Journeyman Card or 5 years industrial experience with either power and /or equipment control or currently in or graduated with a 2 year degree in an electrical technology program.
Commercial, industrial, maintenance, installation, construction and residential wiring will be considered
High School technology programs in electronics, robotics, engineering and or computer-integrated manufacturing will also be considered.
Strong understanding and passion for safe, clean, and organized work environments
Applied knowledge of effective trouble shooting and root cause analysis
Able to read schematics and ladder logic
Understanding or experience with Allen Bradley Drives, Controls, PLC/SLC controllers and drives, PAC’s, AC and Servo Technology, power distribution, relay controls and HMI’s
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be willing to work swing shift
Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment (noise, high temperature)
Must pass pre-employment tests including a drug screening test, physical, Functional Capacity Exam and background check
Must be able to pass a respirator test
