SUMMARY OF THE JOB:
The objective of the Liberty Bank Professional Development Program is to assist participants in transitioning from academic life to a fulfilling career at Liberty Bank. The program introduces concepts like credit underwriting, finance and accounting skills, and provides valuable experience translating business needs into sound credit decisions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Foundational knowledge about the financial services industry and the various commercial banking lending products
Insight into the regulatory environment in which we operate and how to apply these regulations to our operating procedures
A defined career path that begins with training and evolves into a Underwriter/Analyst
The opportunity to apply finance and accounting skills to assess credit and business risk
One-on-one working relationships with various level bank decision maker.
Rotational assignments through the various departments in the Commercial Bank

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The training is broken up into 3 phases:
Phase I—Initial Training
This phase of the program includes:
Highly structured learning via online learning and classroom learning. Topics covered during this Initial Training Phase include introductory banking and analytical concepts as well as formalized credit training and bank-specific compliance training.
Job shadowing and one-to one training in all three lines of business to gain some on the job experience with an Underwriter to apply the required skills in the underwriting process.
Participation in Lunch & Learn sessions, Webinars, and Team meetings to gain exposure to case studies and team building exercises.
Phase II—Rotational Assignments
The primary objective of Phase II is on the job training though a structured rotation system. Participants will be assigned to specific areas that will enhance their skills and knowledge of Commercial Banking. The rotation cycle will encompass six (6) rotations, with each rotation lasting approximately six to twelve weeks. In addition, there may be specific training or activities required during a rotation including site visits and customer meetings.
Phase III—Placement/Career Path
Participants who successfully complete the Liberty Bank Professional Development Program can anticipate an exciting career in banking with Liberty Bank.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
BA/BS degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 strongly preferred
While all majors will be considered, business –related majors are preferred
Ability to work well independently and with others in a fast-paced, team- oriented environment
Detail-focused with a focus on delivering quality results
Good organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Solid written and verbal communication skills
