TITLE: Academic Summer School Teacher Assistant Position
DATE: July 2025 - August 2025
STIPEND: Pay rate as per LAMA contract
REPORTS TO: Summer School Principal
QUALIFICATIONS: The Teacher assistant should possess the following characteristics:
- Holds a New York State Teacher Assistant certificate.
- Develops positive relationships with students; listens to, cares for, and works collaboratively with them.
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students, teachers, parents/guardians, and administrators in a confidential manner.
- Integrates technology into planning, learning, and record-keeping activities.
- Ability to collaborate with teachers and families to support student achievement.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support with supervision of students.
- Communicate with the principal, colleagues, students and families to support student achievement.
- Collaborate with peers to enhance instructional practices.
- Utilize instructional technology during daily lessons.
- Develop and maintain an effective instructional environment conducive to students’ social, emotional, and academic needs.
- Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by the program administrator.
